There's a lot to see in Dubai -- To start, don't miss Khalifa Tower. At over 2,700 feet tall, it's the tallest building in the world.

Also make sure you see the Tower of the Arabs. It's been called the world's first 7-star hotel. Even if staying there is out of your budget range, you can get inside with a reservation at one of the hotel's restaurants or bars.

Aside from sights, Dubai is one of the best places for shopping. You should at least visit the Gold Market even if you don't plan on buying anything. This historic market will dazzle you with its selection of valuables, and it's also a great place for people-watching.

If you want to get a sense of what Dubai looked like before modernity took over, visit Bastakiya, the historic district. This is one of the only places in the city to see Dubai's old traditional architecture.

You can also visit the Dubai Museum to learn even more about the city's history.

The Jumeirah Mosque is also worth visiting to experience authentic Islamic architecture.

And, finally, when you've had enough of the city, head out to the the open desert. You can take a tour on camelback or speed over the dunes in four wheel drive vehicles.

Whether you're looking for fun, history, or shopping and city life, Dubai has it all!
